Landscape succession for nature – forests, fields, shorelines & waterways with John Berg

Occurring by design, chance or relic, the wild places of Little Compton persist within a cultural landscape that has been cultivated by people for thousands of years.  These have been lovingly represented in recent centuries by so many painters, photographers, and even cartographers.  In their images, we see evidence of a cultural landscape evolving over time in response to the efforts and impacts of people.  Together, we can consider these images in light of practices at The Nature Conservancy which aim to keep these wild places for the future.
