SUMMARY:Fort Church and Rhode Island Coastal Defenses
DESCRIPTION:Norman Desmarais\, Professor Emeritus at Providence College will talk about Fort Church and Rhode Island Coastal Defenses during World War II at the Brownell Library.  He will identify the locations of the three reservations which Fort Church occupied. The talk will also describe the defenses at each reservation as well as neighboring defenses and how they worked together to defend the Rhode Island and Southeast Massachusetts coastline. There will be a particular emphasis on the 16-inch guns.
