Digital Comics & Graphic Novels now available via “Comics Plus”

Patrons of the Brownell Library now have access to Comics Plus Library Edition, which brings unlimited access to thousands of digital comic books and graphic novels. No holds or waiting!

With Comics Plus Library Edition, users can instantly view titles through a Web browser on any computer. Or download the mobile app on iOS or Android to browse and read comics using a web-connected tablet or smartphone.

Please note, you must have a library card issued by the Brownell Library to use this service.

Join us as Farm Fresh RI presents Build a Better Body, Community & World, with RI Grown Food!

Participants will enjoy a lively hour focused on the environmental, health and economic benefits of enjoying the delicious foods grown on the beautiful farms here in Rhode Island. Everyone helps the chef prepare a delicious snack that features RI grown food.

RI Museum of Science and Art presents Electric Dough!

Explore the properties of electricity and creativity using conductive dough. Through hands-on art/science activities, you will learn how circuits work, and the difference between conductive and resistive materials.  Use LED lights, play-dough and imagination to create electric artwork!

New Summer LEGO Club Hours

Starting June 3rd, the library’s weekly Lego Club will run from noon until 1pm to accommodate the library’s upcoming summer Saturday hours. No sign-up or registration is required, simply stop by for some LEGO-building fun!

LEGO Club takes place each Saturday and is open to all ages. LEGOs will be provided — just bring your imagination and creativity.

Winter storytime begins January 30th

Winter storytime at Brownell Library will run from January 30th through March 14th, with no storytime on February 7th. Toddler storytime is on Mondays at 11am, and Preschool storytime and craft is on Tuesdays at 11am. All storytimes are drop in, no registration is required!

Wednesday, February 22nd at 6:00pm: Stuffed Animal Sleepover

What happens when the library closes?

Kids bring their stuffed animals to this special bedtime story time to find out! Their stuffy will spend the night in the library and when at pick up the next day, they will discover just what happens when the lights go out!

For children of all ages, though 3+ is suggested as young children may not want to leave their stuffy behind, and older children may have more fun with this event.

Registration is required, please contact the library to sign up!
