Freshwater Fishing Season is here! Rent a rod from the library

Fishing season has begun here in the state, so what better time to stop by the library and take out one of our freshwater (or saltwater) fishing rods and tackle boxes for a week?

To obtain a fishing license, follow the instruction on the RI DEM website:

http://www.dem.ri.gov/programs/managementservices/licenses/fishing-licenses.php

Once you’ve gotten your RI fishing license, come to the library, borrow a pole, and start catching your dinner. Please contact the library for loan terms and conditions.

Watch Author Angie Thomas’ (The Hate You Give) Keynote Lecture

Join us at the library as we host a livestream of author Angie Thomas’ lecture at Rhode Island College. Thomas is the author of “The Hate U Give,” this year’s book selection for Reading Across Rhode Island.

This event is hosted in partnership with the Rhode Island Center for the Book and the Open Books-Open Minds conference at RIC. The lecture will be displayed on the TV in the library’s media room, located in the back of the library.

Don’t miss out on one of the most anticipated author events of the year!
