Thank You from the Friends of the Brownell Library

Dear Friends,

We would like to thank all those who helped make The Friends of the Brownell Library annual book sale on Saturday, August 5th, such a success. We were blessed with a wonderful group of volunteers who moved a mountain of books on Friday, and helped with the organization of the tents.  Although the weather was cloudy with showers on Saturday, we thank our wonderful turnout of book-lovers who purchased a wide variety of the expansive collection – literally something for everyone. Last, but certainly not least, we are so grateful to the Little Compton Boy Scouts who came to our rescue at the end of the sale to help with the cleanup. All the money raised directly benefits the Brownell Library.  We are so fortunate to have such a gem in our community. Thank you so much for your support.

Sincerely,

Dee Holliday & Roberta Shaw

A Visit from Silk Tree Farm

Earlier this week, our friends at Silk Tree Farm visited the Brownell Library to discuss their work preserving heritage breed animals. Patrons got to hear about the local farm’s focus on sustainability and their dedication to nurturing happy, pasture-raised animals.

Silk Tree Farm had a selection of natural goods fresh off the farm, and even brought along some of their furry friends, giving patrons an up-close look at the animals that inhabit the farm.

Silk Tree Farm is located at 64 Pottersville Road in Little Compton, RI. You can learn more about the farm by visiting their website: www.silktreefarm.com
