Friends of the Brownell Library – Annual Appeal

By now, it seems everyone in the world is familiar with the term “path of totality”. We would like to present an alternative version. In Little Compton, this path of totality leads directly to a free experience available to all at the Brownell Library. All roads converge to this wonderful building, where the world is at your fingertips, facilitated by an exceptional staff.

October is Amnesty Month!

Wipe out your late fees by donating to the Little Compton Community Food Bank. Just bring in any unopened, non-perishable, non-expired food items and toiletries to the Brownell Library, all month long. Only eligible donations will be accepted. No pet food. New Cookbook Club Starts November 1st

Do you love to cook and enjoy reading cookbooks? The Brownell Library will be starting a new cookbook club to meet the first Wednesday of each month at 5:30pm. Each month we’ll read a different cookbook and everyone will choose a recipe to make and share. Our first pick is Food52 Genius Recipes.

Drop-in for Toddler Playtime at the Library

Starting September 22nd, the Brownell Library will host a weekly Toddler Playtime every Friday at 10:30am. The program requires no registration and is free and open to all children under the age of five. Bring the kids by for open play and a chance for parents and caregivers to chat!  

Fall storytime begins September 25th

Fall storytime at Brownell Library will run from September 25th through October 31st. Toddler storytime is on Mondays at 10:30am. Preschool storytime and craft is on Tuesdays at 10:30am. There will be no storytime on Columbus Day (October 9th), as the library will be closed. All storytimes are drop in, no registration is required!

Spots available for “Enlighten Up” meditation classes

The library is hosting free meditation classes throughout the end of July and beginning of August. Each class provides participants with an introduction to the meditative experience, and runs roughly 45 minutes.
